DAY 6 Write a letter Because you have grown up on MSN, Email and Texting you may not know the very cool experience of receiving a letter in the mail, however today we are going to find out just how cool letters are. We are going to write one to someone who deserves it. The best letters are ones that say something unexpected. They either share something about yourself or perhaps compliment the other person. The more you can be honest about your feelings the better a letter is. When you compliment someone or tell someone how much you really like them, you give permission for them to do that same to you and too others. Just about always people will write you a letter too or thank you and compliment you right back. So your task is to write three letters or cards (or more), one to each person you care about most and tell them all the things you like about them. Give it to them and see how great you feel. While it is a bit nerve-racking at first, the rewards will outweigh this feeling. You don’t need to get too cheesy or heavy. Just write something happy. Seek to make them smile. If some of your friends are doing this ten day program is might not feel as spontaneous to them so I recommend writing to family or friends out of school. Best of all, if you make letter writing a habit your closest friends will get cards and letters from you at other times in life when they deserve them. Now boys… this may feel like more of a stretch for you than it is for the girls. Its still can be done though, us guys just have to do it in a “GUY “ way. Keep it simple and honest. Start with just a thank you card and work up to letters if that feels easier. Last thing I should mention…. Make sure you actually get the letters to the people! They are no value just sitting in your desk. Don’t chicken out. Post them! Act immediately. Happy writing people!
