Your diary is your life’s mirror.

If you want to know how your life is tracking, look at your diary. Your diary is an exact reflection of your life and the decisions you make to create it.

Think about your week ahead. That is not your ‘schedule’ or your ‘week’ or ‘what you have on’. That is your life!

And it is worth retracing your steps to assess what decisions you made that created it?

Be it a great week ahead or a poor one, understanding how it came to be is where the real power is.

Now I am not suggesting that the goal is to have every moment of your life perfect. Nor am I suggesting that we should never do things we don’t want to do.

And I am also not suggesting that life should always be in balance. On the contrary, nothing significant was ever achieved with balance!

I am saying that wisdom in your decisions is what liberates your life.

  • If you must work, be sure it has boundaries so it does not cut into the time you have for your family, interests and passions.
  • If you must spend money, do not spend money you don’t have which requires you to stay in a job which takes over your life.
  • If you desire a specific quality of relationship, body or income; know that it can only happen if you allocate both time and resources to making it happen.
  • If you must be out of balance be sure it is for just a period and not a lifestyle. And that afterwards you have built something that makes the next part of your life more fulfilling.

Further, it is easy to know what your future looks like; it will be a result of what you allocate time to today.
